Västmanland offers good waters to enjoy the beautiful nature from a canoe. If not small streams and lakes are enough you have the big lake Mälaren with its islands, sounds and inlets. Listed below are some places which offer canoes for rent.

Med Kanot i Diket (Strömsholms kanal)

110 km easy-going paddling. Rent a canoe for a week. Canoe, paddles, lifejackets, wagon, tent, spirit stove are included. In other words, everything two people need for a week's adventure along Strömsholms kanal (Diket). The canal is lined with museums, ancient monuments, castles, mansions and inns. Hjälmare Kanal (Hjälmare Canal)

The canal is over three hundred years old and 13 km long. You have to pass 9 locks but it is easy to paddle. The water flows slowly in a culture landscape.

Hedströmmen

The stream, 75 km, is regulated by dams but have some rapids. The route starts in the Bergslagen area and ends in the lake Mälaren. Sometimes you have to carry the canoe.

Trummelsberg-Gisslarbo

Easy to paddle vithout rapids. The 36 km route is varying with lakes and streams and ends in the lake Mälaren. Some parts you have to carry the canoe.
