Sjöö Castle

The castle is situated 16 km east of Örsundsbro. It was completed in 1672. The architects were Nicodemus Tessin and Mattias Spihler. Sjöö Castle is, with its luxurious garden, one of Sweden´s most, from a cultural and architectural point of view, valuable and well preserved castles from the time when Sweden was a superpower.

Älvkarleby

The town is 25 km Southeast of Gävle. At Älvkarleby the "Dalälven" splits into three tributaries only to merge again after the mighty waterfalls. Salmon has been fished here ever since the Middle Ages. It is the sportsfishing centre of Uppland. Älvkarleby has the best trout waters in Europe, 10 tonnes are caught every year but you can also fish salmon, bass, pike etc. The sportfishing centre also has Europe´s only sportsfishing museum. There are a number of hotels, youth hostels and campinggrounds available and they are often situated on the waterfront.

Enköpings Museum

In Enköping´s Museum you can delve deeply into bygone ages. Start off in ancient times, continue via the Middle Ages through to the 18th and 19th centuries. There is also a handicraft exhibition and you finish your stroll in a replica of what a Swedish town looked like at the beginning of the 20th century.

Skoklosters Castle

The castle is considered to be one of the world´s foremost baroque museums, the collection includes Arcimboldo's fruitgod. In 1654 the fieldmarshal Carl Gustaf Wrangel started building the castle. It was completed in 1660, interior decorating continued until about 1700. The building of the castle was never actually completed and the ballroom stands as an excellent example of what a building site looked like in the 17th century. The castle is situated 21 km north of Bålsta.

Härkeberga church

From the 14th century. The church has extremely well-preserved medieval paintings by Albertus Pictor. There is also an open-air museum, Kaplansgården, nearby.

Kvekgården

The farm is one of the few complete older farms that are preserved in their original location. It is from the middle of the 18th century and is complete with farmhouse and stables etc. The farm is now an open-air museum that depicts farmlife in Sweden during the 18th century.
