The main industry during the 19th and early 20th century was the iron industry. Worth visiting is the forge of Henry Mabäcker where one can see how nails were forged by hand . Even though the town was partly destroyed by fires several times during the centuries, have many of its old buildings survived to the present day. Worth a visit are the two old mansions, Vågmästaregården and Dalgrensgården, both from the 18th century. Also worth a visit is the Örnäs park with a small zoo and an old homestead museum.
