Håverud
is the famous aqueduct constructed by Nils Ericsson more than 120 years ago.
Just by the aqueduct is the Canal Museum situated and its exhibitions of the
construction of the Dalsland Canal. There are several other attractions in
Håverud such as handicraft for leather, china, wood, pottery and
glassworks.

Åmål is actually the only
real city in Dalsland and it was founded by Queen Kristina in 1643. Even though
the town was partly destroyed by fires several times during the centuries, have
many of its old buildings survived to the present day. Worth a visit are the
two old mansions, Vågmästaregården and Dalgrensgården,
both from the 18th century. Also worth a visit is the Örnäs park with
a small zoo and an old homestead museum. Åmål has several other
museums of considerable interest :
