Here you can find deep woods, fascinating rock-formations, beautiful meadows, winding streams and shimmering lakes. Close to the Norwegian border there is a large area of primeval forest which evokes images of ancient times before humans began to walk the face of the earth. The eastern part of Dalsland is a beautiful shoreline along the Vänern lake, with a rather large and beautiful archipelago where the fishing is excellent and the surroundings are wonderful for sailing. A relatively large part of Dalsland is farming land which has been worked by generations of people in the province. The fields are situated like patches among the dark pine woods and lakes. The flora and fauna of Dalsland is very rich with a large number of different kinds of trees, flowers and wildlife. Most common Swedish animals can be seen here in Dalsland and especially attractive are the 'Kings of the forest', the elk. Useful information Quiz game Contents About... E-mail |
